ALMA AI is an independent conceptual research project exploring how artificial intelligence can support long-term relationship compatibility — beyond attraction and engagement.

The goal is not to optimize interaction, but to shift how compatibility is understood — helping people see psychological alignment, potential tensions, and long-term risks before emotional attachment forms.

Overview

Most AI systems in dating optimize for engagement — not compatibility.

This project explores a different direction: how artificial intelligence can be used to understand long-term psychological compatibility between individuals.

Instead of maximizing interaction, the system focuses on revealing alignment, tension, and potential risks before emotional attachment develops.

The focus shifts from surface-level signals and behavioral engagement

to deeper psychological structures that determine whether two people can sustainably build a life together.

Why This Work Exists

Most modern relationship platforms are designed to maximize engagement rather than long-term relational health. This incentive structure naturally favors attraction, novelty, and emotional intensity, while overlooking the factors that determine whether a relationship can remain stable over time. As a result, many people enter relationships with limited understanding of deeper compatibility, discovering fundamental misalignment only after emotional attachment has already formed. This work exists as an attempt to shift the focus: from optimizing engagement to supporting clarity, self-awareness, and psychologically grounded partner compatibility before long-term commitment forms.
